Back to work

I Well, this week I went back to work and it was tough being away from my lil love bug! Luckily, Miss Kami takes real good care of him and sends me pics of how the day is going while I'm at work.  Daddy took Luke on the first day and Kami text me a few times to let me know he was doing alright, then 30min later daddy called me and said he was just leaving When I asked him where he was leaving from, he told me he was waiting down the street and watching the house,  just in case Luke needed him and Kami called.  Awww!

It was a really busy week playing catchup at work and getting in routine. I was super tired and it went by in triple speed. I went to throw away a diaper and noticed I threw away Luke's washcloth that I thought I put in the laundry room...I guess this is what they call mommy brain?

A few pics of Luke's 1st week of Miss Kami's daycare...I love how she keeps me updated and I hope that I didn't drive her crazy on our first week.
Luke doesn't look like he is missing momma on his 1st day with Miss Kami. It was much easier on him then daddy and momma.
He loves being snuggled in his swaddle!

Luke's favorite sport and he is super good at it!
I love this photo...real manly babies sit in pink bouncers! Luke with his new friend Parker...wonder what they are thinking together?

Who can resist this smile?

All dressed up to for the end of our 1st week of daycare :)

Other events this week...
I had to get a pic of my chunky monkey..he is getting so big :)
He has so many different smiles and smirks, I have a bunch of different ones that I didn't get on here but I love all his different expressions he gives when he is cooing and so happy.

All smiles after his 5am breakfast. I got him dressed and ready for Miss Kami's because you never know how long it will take to get out the door. Or, when he will want another snack to fit in before heading out. He usually eats every 2hrs when there is a lot of excitement going on around him and every 3hrs when its just he and I at home. Except, this weekend he has been sticking to his 2hr schedule. At night, he sleeps a little longer and eats every 3hrs.

Celebrating our friends' baby Jean-Luk's christening. Jean-Luk was due the same day as Luke on May 15th. We met his mom and dad at our childbirth class and we were destine to be friends! My friend Bridget was due the same day and then when I went to the hospital a week early for false labor, Bridge was sent in by her doctor at the same time I was there. Then, I gave birth to Luke on May 7th and I saw  on my facebook that she was in the hospital the same day! So, they were 4 doors down from us and a happy family with Jean-Luk exactly 12hrs to the dot later.  These two will be great friends, and I loved getting to celebrate such a special occasion with them.

Luke laughed and cooed every time he kicked the side and made the toys shake.
Cousin Chloe reading one of our favorite books.

I

I was a week late getting his 2mo pics up and when I got his pics he was getting really sleepy. I also figured out how to use my moby and wishing I would've gotten it out much sooner because it is awesome! Who knew?? I see a much easier trip grocery shopping in our future. I love baby snuggle kisses and especially when he looks up at me with his bright blue eyes. This is what being blessed looks like!

Last Week Home :( and 4th of July!

This week has gone by in a flash..we had a great and super busy 4th of July. My favorite holiday! Our friends came by to see the house and visit with Luke and Luke LOVED cuddling with Aunt Patty and Uncle Nash! Then, we went to our friend's house for BBQ and visit with our Red Raider friends and their kids.(aggies and sooners there too) It was great seeing everyone and my friend Chris made some GREAT smoked ribs. My friend Dee is having a baby girl next month and I can't wait! Baby Danielle is going to be blessed with much love :) After our visit with friends we headed to Nana and Papa's house for some more family and friend fun...Luke was loving the cuddle time with everyone and was a happy baby all day! I think it was because I dressed him up in a super awesome 4th of July outfit...ok, maybe not the reason but I sure loved it.

Luke shares my love for the 4th of July!

GOD BLESS THE USA! Especially our troops and their families who fight for our country!!

Luke had to rest up for our busy day ahead...I wanted to get pics with his cousins, but I ran out of energy to get them all ready by the time we got to my parents. Dang, missed photo opp.

Aren't these two pees in a pod?
I love this pic of my lil love bug!! He looks so old...all 8 weeks old. haha. This was the first day of our last week at home together and I was loving our snuggle time after he got done eating.

He always falls asleep after eating...I hate to wake him up to give him clean britches..but, it has to be done. Most of the time I do it before he eats, but sometimes he is too mad to wait on eating.
Sleepy momma and his tummy was grumbling and not so happy baby. He looks like his daddy for sure here! lol

Another morning snuggle with momma after eating.

I'm going to miss all these special moments that I got to experience being home with my love bug. I'm so glad that I was able to stay home with him for these 8 weeks. Tomorrow I will take his 2 month photo...can you believe it? There are no words for how blessed and lucky I am to be a mommy. I never thought I would be able to have a baby and get to know what this feels like. My life has a meaning that was missing and I will forever cherish this feeling and love every new chapter with him!

At 2 months...Luke loves to coo and have conversations about college football, the Rangers, and books that we read together. I'm glad he can't tell me how bad my singing is yet. haha. He lifts his head and stretches his legs with a lot of strength. He is really good at focusing on things now and laughs at his mobil in his swing..I love watching him do that! He will follow me with his eyes when I walk by him and its hard to not kiss him every time, because I can't resist his smile and huge blue eyes. He is starting to feel his hands now and holds them together and eats them. He is still eating every 2hrs and at night about every 3hrs. He slept 1 night for 6hrs from 12am to 6am and I woke up at 4am ready to nurse him, but he just slept away. I couldn't go back to sleep and kept feeling him or stared at him thinking..any minute now he is going to wake up. Why couldn't I sleep?!

Luke will have his 2month check-up in a couple weeks, but from my calculation he is weighing around 11 pounds now :)

My favorite moments are when he isn't smiling and talking with me is when he snuggles on my chest or wraps his arms around my shoulders.

This month has flown by and been pretty busy with studying because I thought since I am home I should take a couple online classes for school so I could graduate by Dec. But, it turns out newborns don't sleep as much as I thought and daddy has been working like crazy at work and then every spare second on finishing the house remodeling so we can move over to the bigger house. We are so close now and just have to finish the backsplash in the kitchen, painting the garage, putting in the hot water heater, put in the toilet and sink in the front bathroom and a couple other odd and ends. It looks soooooo good! We are getting really excited now :)

I can't believe Luke is about to be 2months old...another month gone by already??? I'm also about to go back to work and this will be my last week off :( I know he will have fun and be taken really good care of because I was lucky enough to secure a spot with the same person that my brother used for both of his girls.  Olivia and Alyssa learned so much and loved staying with her, so that was the first thing I did when I found out I was prego with Luke. I called her and told her she HAD to have a spot for us, and I thought it would be good timing because Alyssa is about to start kindergarden. Ugh, I am going to miss my baby so much.

A few of my favorite pic this past month...

Luke started cooing about 3 weeks ago. He did it a couple times during our night feedings and then his lip was quivering as he was trying so hard to talk back to me one day. I was estatic and then the next day I got on my phone video him talking to me. He smiles so big, it melts my heart! This was the smile from our little chat about sports and him going to Texas Tech, but he was more excited when I said Alabama like his daddy. (dangit!)
We took daddy to Buffalo Wild Wings for his 1st Fathers Day and then we went to my parents for dinner with my dad. It was a good and relaxing day. Luke gave good smiles for daddy and papa.
I love taking Luke on walks with me in the morning. I feed him and leave asap, but its starting to get pretty hot outside, I think the heat makes him thirsty because by the time I get home he wants to eat again. Or, his workout is burning so many calories he wants dessert...haha.
You know the commercial with the really young toddlers that read note cards? Well, Luke can read books already! He loves his Dr. Seuss :) My favorites so far are love you forever and guess how much i love you. I love reading him all the books everyone gave us at the baby showers.
Love when he looks so peaceful asleep. He sleeps in his swing more then anywhere. My couch has become my new bed, because when all else fails, he will usually sleep in his swing.  However, when daddy is home...he still wants to hold him all night on his chest.
Cousin Ashlei came over and read to Luke. She is such a bookworm, and is a natural at reading.
Anthony is about to have a baby sister next month and he wanted to hold Luke. He loved touching his feet and was telling me how excited he is to be a big brother soon and that he is going to take good care of his baby sister. So cute!
Luke was tired but I got a snap of us together. Ignore my sleepy eyes...
i couldn't resist this onesie...who can resist baby superman?!
Papa is preparing for his week with Luke at the end of this month. Luke's caretaker will be on vacation and I will be back to work at the end of this month, so papa was getting some feeding in with Luke. It was a team effort with Makayla listening for him to burp. Luke was showing off and was super calm when Papa had to take the bottle away and burp him. He gets real mad when momma has to burp him, he loves his food! Prissy..the pup there is always by Luke's side when we go to nana and papa's house, so I guess she was apart of the teamwork feeding too.
Uncle Nash and Aunt Patty brought Luke this bear when he was born and this is my favorite outfit that  his great Aunt Teresa and Uncle Bobby gave him. He finally can wear it but its scorching hot outside now and we can't show him off in it. So, i had to get some pics of him in it before he outgrows it, and what better way then with big bear?
 My handsome love!
Luke is just hanging out on a Sat. night watching the Ranger game with momma.
